1. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored on a device when you use a website. Poll Warrior also uses similar technologies, especially browser local storage, to keep the Service working on your device.
2. What We Use
Strictly Necessary / Functional
We use cookies and local storage for core Service functions, including:
- Session cookie (pw_session_id) — HTTP-only cookie that keeps you on the same guest account between visits
- Warrior name — local storage copy of the name you chose, for convenience across visits
- Mute preference — remembers whether arena sounds are muted
- Accessibility preferences — keyboard focus aids, screen-reader labels, high contrast, colorblind mode, reduce motion, and text size
- Purchase celebration flag — short-lived session storage used to show a one-time celebration after checkout
These are needed to operate the Service as requested. They are not used for advertising.
Third-Party Technologies
When you start a purchase, you are directed to our payment provider (Dodo Payments). That provider and its processors may set their own cookies or similar technologies on their checkout pages to process payment, prevent fraud, and complete the transaction. Those technologies are controlled by the provider under their own policies.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) and infrastructure partners may also process technical request data as part of delivering the website.
3. Analytics and Advertising
We do not currently place first-party advertising cookies or a separate analytics tracker in the Service. If that changes, we will update this Policy and, where required, request consent.
4. Consent
Because the technologies described above are used for essential Service operation and preferences you choose, we generally do not show a separate cookie consent banner for them.
If we later introduce non-essential cookies (for example analytics or marketing), we will request consent where applicable law requires it.
5. How to Clear Stored Data
You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing the session cookie will start a new guest session on that browser, which may not be linked to your prior votes on that device.
