2. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use Poll Warrior.
It applies to the website, polls, voting, purchases of vote packs, warrior names, customer support, and related services.
3. How Accounts Work
Poll Warrior does not use passwords or a traditional sign-up form.
- When you use the Service, we create a guest session identified by a random session ID stored in an HTTP-only cookie on your browser.
- You may set a warrior name shown on the leaderboard. A copy may also be stored in your browser's local storage for convenience.
- We ask for an email address when you buy vote packs. That email is used for purchase confirmation and account records with our payment provider.
4. Information We Collect
Account Information
- session / account identifier
- warrior (display) name
- email address (when provided at checkout)
- account creation date
- team lock for the active poll (which side you voted for)
We do not collect or store passwords. Card numbers and full payment credentials are handled by our payment provider, not by us.
Poll and Vote Information
- votes cast on each poll and team (free and purchased)
- vote tallies and cooldown timing for free votes
- leaderboard rankings derived from vote activity
- timestamps related to voting and purchases
Purchase Information
When you buy vote packs, we and/or our payment provider may process:
- email address used for checkout
- payment provider order / transaction identifiers
- purchase amount and currency
- pack purchased and votes awarded
- payment status
- refund or chargeback status, if applicable
Information Stored on Your Device
We use cookies and local storage, including:
- Session cookie — keeps you on the same guest account between visits
- a cached warrior name (for convenience)
- sound mute preference
- accessibility preferences (keyboard focus aids, screen-reader labels, high contrast, colorblind mode, reduce motion, text size)
- short-lived flags such as a post-purchase celebration indicator

Technical and Log Information
Our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser/user-agent, request timestamps, and error or security logs when you use the Service. We do not currently operate a separate first-party analytics or advertising tracker in the Service.
5. Information Visible to Other Players
Some information is public by design, including:
- your warrior name on leaderboards
- vote counts and rankings on each team
- aggregate poll totals shown in the arena
Your email address is not shown publicly on the poll page or leaderboard.
6. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide and operate Poll Warrior
- create and maintain guest sessions
- process free and purchased votes
- enforce free-vote cooldowns and team lock-in
- process and reconcile purchases
- show public warrior identity on leaderboards
- prevent fraud, abuse, and cheating
- diagnose technical problems and keep the Service secure
- provide customer support
- comply with legal obligations
- protect our rights and the rights of users
We do not use your email for marketing newsletters unless we clearly ask for that consent in the future.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service depends on third-party services such as:
- Dodo Payments — payment processing and checkout
- Vercel — hosting and related infrastructure logs
- Supabase — database and application data storage
These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy policies.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating accounts, maintaining financial records, security and fraud prevention, and complying with legal obligations.
Vote tallies and payment order records are retained as needed to operate polls, leaderboards, and purchase integrity.
Because guest accounts are tied to a browser session cookie, clearing cookies may start a new guest session that is not linked to prior vote history on that device.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent.

We may need to verify your identity before responding (for example by confirming control of the account email used at checkout).
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly permit children under 13 to use the Service.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the legally required consent, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate.
13. Third-Party Trademarks and Affiliation
Poll Warrior is an independent Service. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any third-party company or trademark owner that may appear in poll topics or related content. Third-party marks remain the property of their owners. Poll-specific disclaimers on the arena, when shown, apply only to that poll and supplement our Terms of Service.
